Rainbow
Book
I have my own idea of what American
Indians are like - and it’s quite possibly totally wrong.
But this book and its construction conveys how I see them.
I believe that they would find the rainbow important as it usually accompanies
rain,
a basic necessity of life - hence the rainbow coloured pages.
Normal book covers would be too constricting and formal
for this project,
so I devised a pouch to hold the pages, with ribbon threaded at the bottom
to represent leather thonging. Beads and feathers seemed appropriate to finish
off the pouch.
