Taming Acrylics

Most manufacturers of acrylic paints seem to think that this medium is used solely as a non-smelling substitute for oil paints. In my opinion that is wrong. Very much wrong. It is true, though, that some acrylic paints (like Winsor & Newton's new Finity range, for instance) probably cannot be used for anything but oil-look-alikes -- but there are other brands to look for.
