Nicoll Heaslip

Nicoll’s passion for calligraphy has inspired her to undertake Certificate of Calligraphy course at RMIT School of Design and the For the Love of Letters two year course with Jill Colebatch in 1996.

She has always taken advantage of workshops offered by internal tutors including Margaret Daubney, Anne Hechle, Thomas Ingmire, Denis Brown and Melissa Andrews.

Nicoll has exhibited in many calligraphy exhibitions and has won First Prize at the Royal Melbourne Show in the Contemporary Calligraphy Section (twice), the Traditional, Advanced, and the Open Sections.

A member of the Calligraphy Society of Victoria since 1991, Nicoll commenced teaching calligraphy in 1993. She is currently teaching at RMIT - Certificate of Calligraphy, Dept Art, Design and Communication and at The Craftree, Brighton.

A variety of commercial work for major companies has kept her busy and she has worked
as resident calligrapher at Kenny’s Cardiology, Southland since 1991.
